Plants - Roots and Seeds

Plant roots

It is made up of the plant's different components that are below the earth, such as roots.

Plant roots are essential because they absorb water and nutrients from the soil. This is then delivered by the stem to various areas of the plant for food preparation, assisting in the plant's development.

The roots also serve as a pillar for the plant, anchoring it to the ground and allowing it to stand erect.

Food is also stored in the roots, which are edible.

Types of roots:

There are two sorts of roots that may be used:

1) Tap Roots: Taproots have a single main or principal root that extends down into the earth. It has a lot of little roots growing out of it.

Because it holds firmly in the earth and penetrates deep into the soil, this root is tougher and more difficult to take out.

They are useful to humans because they can store food in them.

Roots of trees, such as mango, and other vegetables, such as turnips and carrots, are examples.

2) Fibrous Roots: This sort of root does not have a single main root and instead has several smaller roots.

They spread through the soil in a thread-like structure, so they don't penetrate very deep. These are simple to remove.

Onion, grass, and other plants are examples.

Seed.

A seed is a latent embryo of a plant that is encapsulated. They're located in the fruits, and when they're sowed, they grow into new plants.

Seed structure - different parts.

A seed is made up of several components. The plumule develops into a shoot, while the radicle develops into roots. Nutrition is provtopicIded by the cotyledons.

Seeds appear in various shapes and sizes.

The number of cotyledons distinguishes two kinds of seeds. Monocotyledons have just one cotyledon. Cotyledons are found in dicots.

Fruits and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are good for you.

Fruits are not the same as vegetables.

Fruits are always produced from flowers, while vegetables are plant elements that are edible to humans, such as leaves, shoots, roots, and fruits.

Tomatoes are a famous example of a vegetable that may also be used as a fruit.
